DRAFT Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 30 members were in attendance.
Apologies (11) Robin Blackford, Sam Boyd, John Christy, Stanley Forsythe, Norman Gallagher, John Graham, Aubrey McElhinney, John McKegney, Billy Platt, Gordon Ward, and Stanley White.
The President, Derick Woods, welcomed members to the meeting.
Weekly Business:
Minutes: The minutes of the 11th February 2020 were read, approved by the members and signed by the President. .
Matters arising: None.
Correspondence: None.
Reports.
Social. Joe Alcorn outlined the proposals for a Probus trip to HMS Caroline on Wed.24th March, travelling by train and bus with a 100m. walk from the bus to HMS Caroline. The maximum number on each guided tour is 15. Anyone who hopes to go should sign the Attendance sheet which is on the signing in table. See also the itinerary sheet on the table.
Probus Lunch on Tue.25th February, An Attendance sheet is also available on the signing in table. Guests should be included where appropriate.
Welfare. An apology was received from Norman Gallagher
Treasurer. Nigel Semple has nothing to report.
Any Other Business
1. The Spring edition of the Probus Magazine is now available. There are features in this magazine that will be of interest to members. Ken Parkes thanked Mike Turner for submitting the copy to the Editor. Members can submit articles for consideration to the Editor of the magazine.
2. New Members. The President reported that Sydney Carruthers and Jim Hunter will be proposed for membership of Coleraine Probus Club at the next meeting on Tue. 3rd March 2020.
Speaker. The President then introduced this mornings speaker, Albert Clyde, who gave a talk on “Riding for the Disabled, (R.D.A.)” and it's fairly new centre and stables in Coleraine.
A summary of this talk is available in the speaker's record book and here on the club website.
A question and answer session followed the talk.
The vote of thanks, proposed by Des Moore, was passed to Albert by The President. .
Next Meeting: The next speaker's meeting will be held on Tuesday 3rd March. 2020 when Michelle McDaid will give a talk on “The Northern Ireland Air Ambulance”
Closing Remarks. The President thanked members for attending, hoped to see everyone at the next meeting.
The meeting closed at 12:11 pm.
