Mervyn and Fergus gave a detailed account of the history of the NW 200 from its origins in 1929 with the City of Derry Motor Club to in 1964 when the event was handed to the Coleraine and District Motor Club. They showed how the event is important for N. Ireland as a must see attraction with a tourist focus and a global media profile. The event now sustains a world wide fan base.

A question and answer session followed the talk. A summary of the talk is available in the speaker’s record book and here on the club website.
