Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance:
35 members were in attendance.

Apologies: Jim Archer, Jim Gordon, John Graham, Hammy Houston, Graham Kane, Aubrey McElhinney, John McHenry, Bob McIvor, John McKegney, Ian Murray, Reggie Patterson and John Tan. (12)

The President, Des Moore, welcomed members to the meeting together with guest, Maurice Platt. He then introduced this morning’s speaker Billy Bones the topic of his talk being “Pantomimes”.

A summary of this talk is available in the speaker’s record book and here on the club website.
A vote of thanks, proposed by James Nesbit, was passed to Billy by the President. The members showed their appreciation of an interesting and evocative talk.

The minutes of the 13th February 2018 were read, approved by the members and signed by the President.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Social:
Joe Alcorn reminded Members that the Club Lunch will be at 12:30pm. on Tue 27th February at the Lodge Hotel. A lunch attendance sheet is available. Please sign in as soon as possible and include guests where appropriate.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Reggie Patterson is attending hospital for the investigation of a suspected aneurism. Jim Gordon is in Holywell Hospital, Leslie Brennan is in Ratheane and Ernest Preece is in the Bohill.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple said he would be available after the meeting to receive any outstanding membership subscriptions for 2018.

New Member.
Gordon Ward formally proposed that Maurice Platt be accepted for membership of Coleraine Probus Club. This proposal was seconded by Billy Platt and approved unanimously by the members.
Next Meeting: The next speaker’s meeting will be held on Tue6th March 2018 when the speaker will be Dr. Gordon Grey on the subject of “Sailing the Western Isles.”

Closing Remarks: The President thanked members for attending and looked forward to seeing them at the next meeting.
